Avila's Restaurant

My family and I went to the restaurant on Saturday evening, February 1st. We hadn’t been there for some time, so we were really looking forward to what we remember. Well, major disappointment!! The food was cold, our order came out wrong, the service was slow and the server didn’t seem to care. When we complained, the server took the plate to the kitchen. When he returned, it looked as if they stuck it in the warmer and added more sauce. What? Not acceptable!!!! Will we go back? We’ll think about it.

They claim their food is authentic it's not the food is not great. My Grandma would laugh and ask what is this. That is if she was still here. I myself can cook better than that. I wouldn't have people go there

About two years ago, I swore I would never come back. I tried to please my mom and ended coming here. The food was horrendous, we ordered enchiladas and tasted like can xhile ans their rice was a ball of mush. The mole was watery and tasted like I was eating 10 teaspoons of sugar. The service was bad and I felt like we were unwanted. I even had to call one of the servers and complained about the service. The really need to clean this place. Shut it down for renovation and find a good chef

We are from Santa Fe, NM and we were visiting El Paso and stopped here at Avila's!!! The Food was soooooooo good!!! And our server Rose was the BEST!!! SHE'S THE SWEETEST!!!!! Stop here, you won't be disappointed!! 😊

I was in town on business but purposely booked a later flight so I could have dinner at Avila's. Growing up in El Paso and my parents being from there it has always been a staple for really great Mexican food. After years literally 20 or so years of having not been I was finally able to partake and enjoy a piece of home. I had a long flight ahead of me so I had to order the combination plate and then finished off my meal with an order of sopapillas.You can't go wrong by stopping in.

Haven’t been here in awhile because we live off Alabama and Scenic Dr but SORRY that I haven’t!! Atmosphere with music to fit the style of food was delightful while we waited for our food. Waiter (Luis) was superb, very helpful and always at our table and serving us. The food was great and delicious! Will come back soon and bring friends! David

I have been going to Avilas for over 40 years! They have the best salsa in El Paso and the food is always great!

Food is good. Been going there for years. BUT, it’s time to let the business owner know to add some TLC and upgrade the restaurant building overall. Very out dated and gloomy. More windows need to be added and brighten it up. It is not enjoyable at all.

Frequently Have eaten here due to the convenience of it being located next to my work. First experience was not delightful due to staff being rude I did make it a point to call and complain about about the gentleman considered ordering for a second time because the food was good. Second time ordering to go not ony do I get over charged for a meal and handed a meal with no utensils called to find out the exact amount of my order gentleman argued with me about the charge laughing that I was disputing a 2$ charge its not the amount its the principal that they lied and still haven't audacity to act like I'm being petty at this point there food could be the best in town but the untrustworthy shady service they provided me I still won't go back here. Recommendation go to Don Cuco right down the street.

There has been several times that I phone order to pick thru drive thru . The person taking the orders at window is VERY rude. He needs to be educated on how to answer and take your order over the phone . Half the time , the order is missing an item .Both males are rude .nothing gets done when order is wrong . Im surprised the owner lets it go and never responds to anyone’s complaints.

Amazing food, great service, excellent prices, friendly staff

I hadn't been to El Paso in over a decade, so I asked a friend of mine that grew up here what was a good place to get some Mexican food, and he recommended this place.I didn't care much for the fried avocados, as the crust on them lacked any seasoning or anything.Everything else was great! Excellent enchiladas con mole and soapapillas. The salsa that comes with the chips is nice and hot, and the service was great! Will definitely come back next time I'm in El Paso.

Hands down Love this place. The food was great. The host in the grey shirt was very polite and welcoming. Our waitress hands down the best. She the sweetest lady ever. My son's absolutely loveed her. The food was very home made taste. Little on the pricey side but worth it to us. Highly recommended.

I have loved Avila’s food and have been going for years but the last two times I’ve gone they have messed up my order. The staff that takes the orders by phone & the drive through window are not friendly at all. It’s like they’re doing me a favor. I try to support our local restaurants especially in these hard times when they most needed, but I will not go back to Avila’s.

Great food with good service but the place smells and needs a good cleaning.

I have been a patron for decades, but sadly had to choose elsewhere for Mexican food due to the roach infestation...I miss your great menue

It isn't bad but the enchiladas are drenched in sour cream so if you ask for it on the side because they wont tell you. Sopapillas are amazing...

Awesome food, it makes you say WOW! Great taste, great atmosphere, great service, we had a great time there, Andy Avila is a great host and so was his brother Billy. I highly recommend it, we will be back, it's worth the drive from the lower valley close to Socorro, just to taste some great Mexican food, really Mexican food. Love Avila's. !!!!

I am a 20 year Military Veteran and my wife is a 7 year Veteran. My wife was talking to the owner about something minor and he went off on her, enough to make her cry. When i heard about it, i did embarrass myself by not being nice (as he was not to her) to him when i drove over their to confront him. Of course he was very nice when i showed up. Maybe because i was a man and that is just how he is, who knows. I would not recommend this place to anyone if that is how he treats people, or woman more specifically. To this point i have no idea why he treated my wife that way, she was not confrontational with him. If he had a bad day, ok, just say sorry and we would have moved on.

Best chicken mole enchiladas in town! Great prompt customer service with a classic El Paso ambiance! A definite MUST for visitors and our community!

Great place if you don't mind tex-mex. Reminds me of the "Mexican" food in the tourist parts of San Antonio. No excuse in not making the food authentic or flavorful since there are Mexican places everywhere else. Food came reheated as the plate was piping hot. Don't come here if you want real Mexican food you can get anywhere else in the city. Leo's is way better.
